On Tuesday, April 6, 2010, a forum was held sponsored by a coalition of Black Greek letter organizations featuring Georgia's State Attorney General Thurber Baker at Atlanta's West Hunter Street Baptist Church. Chi Gamma Gamma Chapter lead the charge in gathering this group and organizing this forum.
Attorney General and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Baker headed to one of Atlanta’s historic black churches to discuss his decision not to sue the federal government over health care reform.
Baker was thrust into the national spotlight in March after his showdown with Gov. Sonny Perdue over the issue, and dozens of Republican lawmakers have since signed onto a petition calling for his impeachment.
Baker spoke that evening at the West Hunter Street Baptist Church, a bastion of social justice during the civil rights movement.
